Halak or Price?

Based on Halak’s performance for Slovakia during the 2010 Olympics, will it solidify him as the number one goalie for The Habs? I love Price and see him as the future – will it be with The Habs? I do often wonder where his head is sometimes?

I’ll guarantee Halak will start on Tuesday against The Bruins. If he plays good, then runs off a few impressive starts. I think that’s it? Price will be riding the pine for the remainder of the season and will see his playing time diminished.

Things are gonna get ugly in Montreal. It could be worse though, I could of been a Leafs fan.

The North Does Get More Snow

This winter has been very good to us. Not to cold and hardly any snow. This week we’ve seen more snow than the whole winter combined. We got about 10cm Monday night and another 10cm last night.

I woke up this morning knowing I would have to shovel. I woke around 8:30am and looked out the window. The first thing I noticed was – across the street the driveways all looked clean, looked down at mine and it was full of snow. I guess it was the way the wind was blowing or is it because I live on the north side?

This is the view from Jacob’s room. As you can see hardly any snow. They were not shoveled. This is the whole block.

This is my driveway full of snow.

All clean. As I’m writing this, the snow plow just drove by. Now I got to go shovel the mound it left. It’s not to bad though.

Come On Canada WTF!

I love that the Canadian Woman’s Hockey team won gold yesterday, and shutting out the Americans – even better. But come on ladies this should of been done in your dressing room.

Hockey Canada apologized Thursday for an impromptu party the Olympic woman’s hockey team threw for itself on the Canada Hockey Place ice after winning the gold medal.

Almost Got Busted

This morning I was going down to Burger King, the kids wanted french toast sticks. It’s about a 8 minute drive. I just felt the urge to open up. I was cruising at about 60km, down shifted to second and just floored it, before I even knew it I was doing about 120km, I know – stupid.

I get to to the light before the last left I had to make, I look in my rear view view, there’s a cop behind me. I have no ideas where he came from or how long he was tailing me? I make the left, lights go on. I just pull into the Burger King parking lot. I’m thinking – there goes my spotless driving record.

I’m waiting, I see him open up his door and slowly walking towards me, I can see him checking out my car, wondering what kind it is. I got the Korean Wing Emblems, so if you don’t know, you’ll wonder. My window is already down, he leans down and says “you were going pretty fast there, where you going”. I tell him Burger King, “can I see your drivers license and registration please”. I give it to him, but he doesn’t just walk back, he walks around to the front and he’s checking out the car.

He goes back to his car, comes back in about 5 minutes, and just says to me “take it easy out there, have a nice day” I say thanks, as he’s walking away, and says “nice car”. I say thanks again.

I pull into a parking spot, get the french toast sticks and drive home, “taking it easy”.

6 Foods With Stealth Health Powers

In the battle of the bulge, the food you eat every day can take a toll on your health. Make the wrong choices, and not only will you pack on unsightly pounds, but you’ll also increase your risk of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. That’s because our bodies are designed to function at their optimum levels and to look and feel lean, strong, and vibrant when they’re fed nutrient-rich, real food that’s not processed or “fast.” Eating nature’s best fare throughout the day also revs your metabolism, turning calories into 24-hour energy instead of fat.

The secret to eating better? Fill your diet with healthy fare that tastes good.

Hockey Playoffs – Game 2

Game 2 was played against the Bruins. They won 6-0. All the teams that were beating them during the regular season are being handled, quite easy I might add.

They are now 2 wins and no loses and no goals against them. Jacob will be missing the next two games, as he will be cruising the Caribbean.

I’ll get Todd to send me updates via email.

The Box – What A Piece Of Crap

Very rarely, but once in a while I’ll rant about something. I’ll never review movies. However I do feel the need to comment about this movie called The Box.

I’ve seen bad movies before, but usually expect it. The Box has to one of the worst movies ever made. The plot, whatever it was, sucked. The movie had so many holes, was boring and went no where. I wanted to turn it off, but keep hoping and wishing something would happen that would of made this bore fest worth it. The movie ended the same way it started, sometimes this works in a movie, when there’s closure or some a twist.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you about this waste of film.

Hockey Playoffs – Game 1

Jacob had his first playoff game today. They finished the regular season, tied for 3rd, but placed 4th due to wins. The playoffs are a round robin format.

After a slow start to the season, they ended the season winning 5 and tied 2. I believe they are the most improved “team”. I’ve watched them develop so much from game 1 to game 14.

They played The Senators, whom they lost and tied during the season. Game 1 ended 11-0 for us. They were all over them. You would not believe this was the same team that lost to them early during the season.

Jacob almost scored 3 times, he was on his way towards a break-away, but was tripped, no penalty was called as they were already up 7-0.

Great job guys, let’s go all the way.

Nick makes a nice defensive play, Austin then makes a nice pass up the middle. Jacob takes the pass, he’s in the clear. The Senators are making a line change, the defense skates towards Jacob and trips him. Jacob gets up and still manages to get a shot off.

Vitamins and Minerals: What We Need and Why

Understanding the role vitamins and minerals play in the body is the key to understanding what we need and why. For those of us who generally eat a well balanced diet, taking vitamin tablets may not necessary. There are, of course, exceptions, including pregnant and lactating women, those who suffer bone loss due to osteoporosis, and adolescents who need calcium for the development of their bones. While vitamin tablets may not be necessary, minerals, on the other hand, may need to be supplemented, depending on age, gender, and doctor recommendation.
