This morning I was going down to Burger King, the kids wanted french toast sticks. It’s about a 8 minute drive. I just felt the urge to open up. I was cruising at about 60km, down shifted to second and just floored it, before I even knew it I was doing about 120km, I know – stupid.
I get to to the light before the last left I had to make, I look in my rear view view, there’s a cop behind me. I have no ideas where he came from or how long he was tailing me? I make the left, lights go on. I just pull into the Burger King parking lot. I’m thinking – there goes my spotless driving record.
I’m waiting, I see him open up his door and slowly walking towards me, I can see him checking out my car, wondering what kind it is. I got the Korean Wing Emblems, so if you don’t know, you’ll wonder. My window is already down, he leans down and says “you were going pretty fast there, where you going”. I tell him Burger King, “can I see your drivers license and registration please”. I give it to him, but he doesn’t just walk back, he walks around to the front and he’s checking out the car.
He goes back to his car, comes back in about 5 minutes, and just says to me “take it easy out there, have a nice day” I say thanks, as he’s walking away, and says “nice car”. I say thanks again.
I pull into a parking spot, get the french toast sticks and drive home, “taking it easy”.
