I love that the Canadian Woman’s Hockey team won gold yesterday, and shutting out the Americans – even better. But come on ladies this should of been done in your dressing room.
Hockey Canada apologized Thursday for an impromptu party the Olympic woman’s hockey team threw for itself on the Canada Hockey Place ice after winning the gold medal.
To be fair, the stadium was closed to the public and all the people who attended the game had left about 1 hour earlier. It was just a few straggling photographers and journalists who caught this and of course spread it.
Let’s face it, these are all 18 – 23 year old girls- don’t tell me you never made any dumb decisions when you were that young. They had just won gold for our country, in home soil!
I really don’t think it’s such a biggie that they celebtrated with a beer and champagne after working their asses off for so long!
Could they have done it in their dressing room? sure. But put yourself in their shoes, in that moment, where they felt on top of the world. They didn’t have the best judgement, true, but it’s really no big deal!
All your points are valid. However you have to remember the year, anything you do is gonna end up in the media.
I don’t care how old they are, they should of used better judgment. If these were the American girls, we as Canadians would of been all over it.
